CKPool is open-source mining software created by Con Kolivas that powers public Bitcoin mining pools, including the popular solo.ckpool.org server where solo miners can connect and keep 100% of block rewards (minus a tiny 0.5% fee).

Why It Matters for Solo Mining

CKPool is basically the go-to choice for ckpool solo mining if you don’t want to run your own Bitcoin node. Instead of setting up complicated software on your computer, you just point your miner at solo.ckpool.org and start hashing. If your device finds a block, CKPool automatically sends 99.5% of the block reward (currently 3.125 BTC after the latest halving) directly to your wallet address—no pool operator keeping a huge chunk, no minimum payout thresholds.

How It Works

When you connect a device like the Bitaxe Gamma 602 or Lucky Miner LV08 to CKPool, the server handles all the communication with the Bitcoin network. It generates mining work for your device, checks your submitted shares, and monitors whether you’ve found a valid block. The software is incredibly efficient and stable—it’s been running since 2014 and processes millions of shares without breaking a sweat.

CKPool uses a “SOLO” mining mode where each miner works independently rather than combining hash power with others. This means your 500 GH/s Avalon Nano 3S is competing against the entire Bitcoin network’s hash rate—astronomically unlikely to win, but if you do, the reward is all yours. The 0.5% fee CKPool charges covers server costs and is way lower than traditional pools that take 1-2%.

The cool thing is CKPool shows real-time stats on their website so you can track your miner’s performance, see your share submissions, and monitor your lottery ticket chances using their built-in mining calculator.

Example

Let’s say you connect your Bitaxe GT 801 running at 1.6 TH/s to solo.ckpool.org. You enter your Bitcoin address as your username, set a worker password, and start mining. For months, you submit shares showing you’re working, but no block. Then one day—boom!—your device finds block #875000. CKPool instantly broadcasts it to the network, and within minutes, 3.09375 BTC (99.5% of 3.125 BTC) appears in your wallet. That’s roughly $300,000 at current prices, and it actually happened to a NerdQaxe++ Rev 6.1 miner in early 2026!
